Foods Against Arthritis and Osteoarthritis?

In a report from the journal Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology, comes evidence that tumor necrosis factor (TNF,) a highly inflammatory factor in the body, is a culprit in both Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis.

From: vol 10, 2003. By: Drs. Rosengren, Firestein & Boyle, Div. of Rheumatology and Immunology, U. of Cal at San Diego, 9500 Graham Dr., La Jolla, CA 02093.

NOTE: While drug companies may be seizing on this info to develop anti-TNF drugs, it should be noted that Green tea and Fish oils have been shown to be natural inhibitors of TNF.

Anti-TNF drugs are now being prescribed for Crohn's Disease, and we expect that similar approaches will be forthcoming for other inflammatory diseases.

Please note that as always, we do not diagnose or prescribe, which is the province of physicians. We merely report on scientific medical discoveries from creditable sources.
