The Annals of Internal Medicine of March 18, 2008, printed a comparison between surgery and "watchful waiting" in terms of survival. It showed that surgery was superior. Yes, of course! Doing something was better than doing nothing.
However, non-surgical but scientific methods such as eating soy beans and taking selenium were not judged. Too bad. Of course, side effects such as urinary leakage, erectile dysfunction and bowel urgency appeared in the "treatment group." One might opine that soy beans and selenium's side effects may not have appeared at all.
