The
F.D.A. has just approved a new drug for advanced prostate cancer which, in
the words of Physician's Health Watch, "...does not cause an initial
promotion or tumor growth as other hormonal treatments can."
Editor's note: You mean that patients have been given a drug that initially INCREASES TUMOR GROWTH? Please do not be too surprised. Radiation, surgery, and chemotherapy, given to women for breast cancer, also can cause cancer.
Note that vitamin D does not cause cancer. But do we have to wait for the drug companies now working on vitamin D analogues* to perfect them? Why analogues? Because there is not the kind of money in vitamins that there are in cancer drugs.

*An analogue is a compound with a chemical structure closely similar to that of another. An analogue, being a new product, can be patented. Vitamin D cannot.
