A
Food to Suppress Cancer and Arthritis?
In animals given fish oil after being given a
carcinogen, there was a reduction of 47% in pre-cancerous growths after four
weeks and 38% after twelve weeks, said a report to the Amer. Assn. for
Cancer Res., April, l997*.
This was not the first time such results were reported with fish oil, while
others have shown its benefit in arthritis, lupus and heart disease.
Does anybody care? Consider that, to put it mildly, fish oils are hardly a
toxic substance. There are some doctors who do care and others who don't. A
report in Lipids, vol. 31, l996** by a team at Mass. Gen. Hosp., and Harvard
Medical School, both in Boston, revealed that in humans, thee was some
improvement in the condition of lupus and arthritis patients after taking
fish oils.

Sagami Chem. Res. Inst., Kamagawa, Japan.
