Crohn's Disease--Heart of the Problem?

The Lancet* notes that Crohn's Disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the intestine that is characterized by cycles of increased activity and periods of remission. 30-60% 'of patients treated by physicians] will relapse within 1 year."

So what's the REAL problem? Scientists at Humboldt & Christian Albrechts Universities, Berlin & Kiel, Germany** have found that TNFa (tumor necrosis factor a) is what should be targeted for treatment. Whatever drug is eventually produced, patients should be aware that RIGHT NOW, other scientists have shown that GREEN TEA reduces TNFa.

For a brief overall discussion of TNF, click here for A Key to Health and Illness.
