According to the government advisory group, the Institute of Medicine, medical errors kill as many as 98,000 Americans each year! So what are the hospitals doing about it? According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, they are facing up to their mistakes and admitting them so as to minimize legal actions against them. And oh yes, adds the Journal, they are apologizing.

Isn't that nice? No Alternative Health, no Alternative Medicine, just as long as they apologize.

The story reminds me of when I was near to going into a hospital for hernia surgery. I asked my physician uncle, "Is Montefiore Hospital good?" He replied, "Bill, any time you leave a hospital alive, thank your lucky stars."
