PBS Praises Alcohol Over Food in Anti-Science Stance

On the PBS program The MacNeill-Lehrer show last night, it was reported that in studies with insects, the substance Resverotrol seemed to be helpful in extending life. They added that Resveratrol is found in red wine and peanuts.

One could say that a half-truth is a lie. Yes, Resveratrol is found in red wine. But how did it get there? From red grapes in wine making! Did the people at PBS want you to know that red grapes have the same Resveratrol? And without any of alcohol's downsides? They did not or were ignorant of the obvious.

Sources for Resveratrol too numerous to mention. TNFa sources include the journals Cancer Research (by H. Fujiki) and Immunology Today on MS-TNFa connection.
