Having gathered data about "all patients hospitalized with first-ever intracerebral [brain] hemorrhage in Greater Cincinnati ...from July 1993 through June 1994, and during 1999," scientists found that "The incidence of anti-coagulant [drug]-associated [brain hemorrhage] quintupled in our population during the 1990's.

"The majority of this change," they noted, "can be explained by [the] increasing warfarin [Coumadin t.m.] use."
