So begins a report on the adverse reactions of bee propolis particularly among "patients with an allergic predisposition, in particular an allergy to pollen."

The report on bee propolis, from the National Institute of Health of Italy, notes that "No label warning of possible adverse reactions is found on the packaging..."

The scientists' caution that the public and healthcare practitioners should be [made] aware of the dangers of bee pollen to susceptible persons.

Editor's note: Indeed, the public perception that "natural products" are inherently safe is not correct. One should be aware of the side effects of some such products. For example, the herb valerian has been cited as causing some problems.
