Diabetes and
Exercise
Diabetics know that diet plays an important part in the management of
their ailment, even if many do not actually practice careful eating.
Now scientists* say that exercise also plays a part.
"...more emphasis is
needed to ....incorporate physical activity as part of standard medical
care in patients with diabetes," they say, after studying comparisons
between those who exercised and those who didn't in nationwide surveys.
It was clear to them that patients who are more physically active fared
better.
".... physical activity
'and diet] are 'both] important contributors to 'control of their
diabetes,] they noted.
