In experiments with susceptible animals, medical scientists have found that "In the absence of salt, 'which would increase risk if present,]... canola oil markedly shortens survival compared with soybean oil. In addition, several other vegetable (e.g., olive oil, corn oil, ...'certain} safflower oils, 'certain] sunflower oils, evening primrose oil, hydrogenated soy and hydrogenated canola were shown in our laboratory and by others to shorten survival similarly to canola."
They also found that "perilla seed oil, flaxseed oil, and fish
oil prolong survival compared with safflower and soybean oils." All
emphases are added.
