Peanuts Reduce Heart Disease Risk

"Objective: This study determined the effects of 'high] peanut consumption on diet composition as well as 'blood, blood fat, magnesium and  'harmful] homocysteine concentrations  in non-hospitalized 'humans...]

"Conclusions: Regular peanut consumption 'the subjects were given 3 ozs. per day] lowers 'blood] triglyceride, augments consumption of nutrients associated with reduced cardiovascular 'heart and blood] risk and increases 'blood] magnesium concentration 'all helpful.]

DETAILS: Yes, peanuts are high in calories because of their high fat content. But their fat is healthful, unlike the fat in meat, poultry and eggs. Previous reports have shown benefits also in walnuts.
