A Common Vitamin Deficiency That May Damage the Heart

"Vitamin D deficiency is associated with a greater risk of developing cardiovascular disease for those with (high blood pressure,) according to new findings from researchers with the Framingham Heart Study.

"The study's findings, the latest to suggest that vitamin D deficiency may increase risk for cardiovascular disease, add to a glrowing body of evidence linking inadequate levels of the vitamin to a variety of disorders.

"...vitamin D deficiency is common, affecting an estimated 1 billion people worldwide."
