High Calcium Increases Risk For Heart Disease

A report by the Department of Preventive Medicine has concluded that a measure of calcium blood content--The coronary calcium score (CACS) predicts the risk for heart disease. This is Alternative Medicine at work!

Doctors at Northwestern University, Chicago, Ill., followed up for 5.8 years 5,878 individuals who originally had their CACS measured to see whether there was any correlation with their getting heart attacks or [Coronary Heart Disease] or cardiac arrest and their calcium scores.

They found that those with a high amount of calcium correlated with the highest amount of subsequent heart disease. This Alternative Medicine approach, if applied by physicians could lessen the risk if they advise their patients against taking in too much calcium.

The food industry, looking only for sales of their products, have to some degree ADDED calcium to their products like orange juice, thus potentially harming their consumers. Using alternative medicine and advising their patients to take in less calcium could save lives!
