Item 1-- Ferulic Acid, the main constituency of Dong Quai, a source of Alternative Medicine, "...exhibits many bio activities especially anti-inflammatory and [immune stimulation.] Z-ligustilide [another substance in Dong Quai] exerts anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, neuroprotective and [liver protecting] effects. [another constituent] exerts anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and anti-cardiovascular effects."

Editor's note: Now that's an herb worth knowing about for alternative medicine!

And here's another scientific report--

Item 2-- "This study is to synthesize ...Angelica [Dong Quai] polysaccharides (APSs) and investigate the activity of one of the ...derivatives APS-1 on [live] murine leukemia virus...And the virus replication was inhibited by APS-1...Furthermore, both the percentage of CD4 and CD4+/CD8(+) [immune cells]...were significantly enhanced by APS-1...[that's good.]...These results suggest that APS-1 could not only reduce virus replication, also improve the immune function. APS-1 may be a potential new and better antiviral drug.

Emphasis added.

Editor's note: And even better as alternative medicine!

And finally--

Item 3--[Dong Quai]...was found effective in chronic ulcer management in humans, demonstrating that botanical high tech [alternative medicine] wound dressings can be successfully developed to improve the treatment of chronic lesions in humans."
