Alzheimer's
Disease and Epilepsy--Same Origin?
"PLA2* activation and prostaglandin production 'in our bodies] are among
the earliest initiating events in triggering brain-damage pathways,
which can lead to neurologic deficits....PLA2 activities have been
correlated with several forms of ....brain injury....including induced
seizures....and epilepsy, schizophrenia, and in particular, Alzheimer's
disease."....Drs. Bazan, Colangelo & Lukiw, LSU Neuroscience Ctr., LSU
Health Sci. Ctr., New Orleans 70112, USA, in Prostaglandins, August,
2002.
DETAILS: It should be noted that PLA2 may be inhibited by foods such as
green tea, and that aspirin inhibits prostaglandin production in the
body. To learn about these subjects and what foods can do to help, order
