Medical scientists at a Harvard University hospital concluded that "Modifiable healthy behavior during early elderly years, including smoking abstinence, weight management, blood pressure control, and regular exercise, are associated not only with enhanced life span in men but also with good health and function during older age."
Editor's note: All the effective life style factors are natural, that is,
they do not include the taking of drugs. Even reducing blood pressure can
often be done with the simple alternative health diet of reducing salt and
increasing potassium. Foods rich in potassium include orange juice, beans,
fruits and vegetables. Bananas? Sorry, Virginia, orange juice is far
superior.
