So many mail-order ads for yohimbe or for combinations of substances featuring yohimbe have appeared lately that we decided to see what medical science has proven about it--if anything. It is intended for the correction of erectile insufficiency.

"Yohimbe is 'an] herb used in stimulant and body-building preparations which has safety concerns." Emphasis added.

"Increased risk of hypertension when tricyclic antidpressants 'for example, Prozac] are combined with yohimbine 'yohimbe ingredient.]"

"Current herbal reference texts do not contain sufficient information for the assessment and management of adverse health effects of botanical therapies." 'Yohimbe was one of those examined.]
