Researchers at the U. of Maryland, observing that the "Normal human prostate accumulates the highest levels of zinc of any soft tissue in the body," they investigated. Their subsequent findings concluded that "There now exists strong evidence that the loss of a unique capability to retain a high level of zinc is an important factor in the growth of malignant prostate cells."
DETAILS: Since the minimum daily requirement is set at 15 milligrams, one
probably should not go much above that. Excessive zinc intake could be
deleterious, as some studies have shown.
