"The association between several 'types of] cancers and selenium has been investigated in 'studies of people's living habits.] However, few results concerning bladder cancer have been reported thus far..." Emphasis added.

A study was done with 120,852 men and women aged 55-69 years of age, assessing their selenium content compared with patients who had bladder cancer. It was found that the risk of cancer dropped by about 1/3 among subjects who had higher selenium levels. Ex-smokers were revealed to have the most benefit.

"We conclude that the evidence is in favor of an inverse association between selenium and bladder cancer risk." Emphasis added.
