Suggesting that osteoporosis risk may be reduced in women by the intake of
soy, scientists at the U. of North Carolina* have found in two studies that
indications of bone mineral density were increased with soy isoflavones
contained in the bean. The first report showed its beneficial effects in
young women and the second revealed its benefit to middle-aged and to older
women.
