Vegetables With Spaghetti Sauce

Here's a simple, tasty recipe that is LOADED!

You'll need a half pound of lentils (obtainable dry in plastic bags from the supermarket,) chilli powder, spaghetti sauce (not plain tomato sauce,) three raw regular carrots or six baby ones, a half pound of spinach, and garlic powder. That's all.

Cook the lentils (washed in a colander,) in five cups of water and a third of a 26oz. jar or can of spaghetti sauce and a tablespoon of garlic powder for 45 minutes.  The garlic should be in the amount to your taste. However, cooking will substantially reduce the taste and aroma, so you can adjust the amount with this in mind. Ditto for the chilli powder, although its potency is barely affected by cooking, so watch out--its hot stuff! You may want to start with a teaspoon.

Please watch the pot. The lentils tend to stick to the bottom and burn it. This has happened to us many times! You may have to add water and sauce to prevent it.

Add carrots for final 10 minutes and spinach for final five.

That's it!
Enjoy your good health!
