A Fabulous Fiber Feast

This recipe is easy as boiling water. But it tastes much better. And its soooo healthful!

Ingredients:
1/3 cup brown rice
1/3 cup lentils
1/3 cup whole barley*
1 cup low-salt chicken soup
1 tablespoon garlic powder
Water.

  • Place the first three ingredients in a saucepan or rice cooker.
  • Add garlic powder.
  • Add chicken soup.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups of water.
  • Bring to slow boil or turn on rice cooker.
  • Its all done when the fiber combo has absorbed the water. Voila!

In the ethnic section of the supermarket you can find it among Hispanic foods as "Cebada."
