A Fabulous Fiber Feast
This recipe is easy as boiling water. But it tastes much better. And its
1/3 cup brown rice
1/3 cup lentils
1/3 cup whole barley*
1 cup low-salt chicken soup
1 tablespoon garlic powder
- Place the first three ingredients in a saucepan or rice cooker.
- Add garlic powder.
- Add chicken soup.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of water.
- Bring to slow boil or turn on rice cooker.
- Its all done when the fiber combo has absorbed the water. Voila!
In the ethnic section of the supermarket you can find it among Hispanic
foods as "Cebada."
