The journal Menopause* reports that the adding of soy proteins to the diet provides many of the benefits of HRT without all of the risks. Researchers revealed that giving women subjects 20 grams of soy protein containing the vital ingredient isoflavones daily, lowered their blood pressure (helping to prevent heart disease,) and showed significant improvement in the severity, but not the frequency of hot flashes, plus alleviated other female symptoms of low estrogen.

And we add, the isoflavones in soy decrease cancer risk, whereas HRT increases it.
