How Much Vitamin C?

We strive to present the reader with the latest discoveries of medical science. The following report is certainly not new. However, since it has not been widely reported in the media, and is so important, we present it here.

"...dietary supplementation of 500mg 'milligrams]...'vitamin C] daily (i.e., a common commercial dose) to healthy volunteers for 4-6 weeks causes substantial oxidative DNA damage in circulating lymphocytes 'a form of white blood cell.]

"The surprisingly healthy outcomes associated with an increase of just one serving per day of fruit and vegetables are in keeping with the observation that 'for example] whole-apple extracts exert much greater...total antioxidant activity and stronger inhibitory effects on growth of colon and liver cancer ...'experimentally] than does synthetic ascorbic acid, presumably because of their high content of nutrients and phyto-'plant] chemicals." Emphases added.
