Blood Pressure lowered by Soy.
Alternative Medicine in Action

Medical scientists at Harvard's Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital report that "'Population] studies suggest a low incidence of cardiovascular disease 'in women] who consume dietary soy.

"Compared with an 'otherwise healthful diet] alone, the same diet plus soy nuts lowered systolic and diastolic blood pressure by 9.9% and 6.8% respectively."   This Alternative Medicine based approach's results, in terms of successfully lowering blood pressure were quite dramatic in a world of drug-based treatment often resulting in less effective lowering. And of course, side effects are virtually nil* with the Alternative medicine treatment as compared with the serious potential side effects of the drugs.

In: Archives of Internal Medicine, vol. 167, no. 10. 2007 By: Drs. Welty, Lee, Lew and Zhou, Div. of Cardiology and from the Nutrition Metabolism Lab, both of Beth Isael, Boston, Mass.

*Soy in any form is not advisable for nursing, pregnant and soon-to-be-pregnant women.
